FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about how full truck load freight works with us.
What is full truck load (FTL) freight?
Full truck load means your freight has the whole trailer. It's loaded at your dock and driven straight to the receiver, with no depot stops, no cross-docking and no sharing space with other customers. We only move full loads: you book the whole trailer, priced per load, whether you fill every pallet space or not.
How is FTL different from general or LTL freight?
Less-than-truckload (LTL) or general freight is priced by weight or cubic space, consolidated with other customers' freight and handled through depots. FTL is priced per load for a lane and trailer type, so the rate doesn't change whether you fill 18 or 22 pallet spaces, and your goods are only handled at pick-up and delivery.
How long does delivery take?
Transit depends on the lane. Sydney–Melbourne and Melbourne–Adelaide are typically overnight, Brisbane–Sydney is about one day, Brisbane–Rockhampton is overnight, Brisbane–Cairns about two days, and Perth lanes take three to six days. Next-day delivery is available for select destinations. Your quote confirms the timing.
How many pallets fit on each trailer?
A semi-trailer flat deck or tautliner takes up to 22 pallets (max 22,000 kg). A B-double takes 34 pallets (max 34,000 kg). A semi drop-deck mezz takes up to 38 pallets and a B-double mezz up to 56, with a maximum pallet size of 1.2 × 1.2 × 1.3 m high on mezz decks.
How is my quote calculated?
Each city's metro area (within about 50 km of the CBD) has a fixed rate per load on our main lanes, set for semi-trailers and B-doubles; tautliners and mezz decks share a rate. A fuel levy is added as a percentage of the linehaul, adjusted as diesel prices move, and GST is shown separately. Dangerous goods and extra pick-ups or drops (split loads) are charged extra. Outer suburbs, regional towns, flat tops and sites with restricted truck access are priced on request. You'll see an indicative price range straight away, and your exact price when you log in.
Can you do more than one pick-up or drop?
Yes. Palletised cartons can be split across up to three drop-offs. Each extra pick-up or drop attracts an additional charge, which is shown in your quote.
Do you carry dangerous goods?
Yes, by arrangement with DG-licensed carriers. Pallets must display DG diamonds of at least 100 mm and travel with a dangerous goods declaration listing UN numbers, weights, addresses and the relevant emergency procedure guides.
What about long or oversized items?
Items over 4.8 m long need a flat-top trailer. Tell us the dimensions in your quote description and we'll confirm the right equipment.
How do consignment notes work?
Once your quote is approved, you create consignment notes in the customer portal. Each one gets its own number and is emailed as a PDF. Print it and hand it to the driver with your picking slips or purchase orders.
Why are your rates competitive?
We're a small Australian business with very low overheads, and we work directly with Australian-owned carriers. There's no middle-man margin or national depot network built into your rate.
Got a load ready to move?
Get a price in under two minutes. Our main lanes are priced instantly, and other regional loads are quoted on request.
